A Life Condensed Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to the Glamour!

I'm just a small town girl, enjoying my life and trying to capture it. I love photography and design of any kind and have all of my life. I adore meeting new people and watching people's interactions.

I believe with my whole being that everyone is beautiful. Sometimes, you may not be able to see it in yourself and I want to help show you. You are gorgeous and I want you to see that.

I love being inspired by other creative souls. Love to just soak in everything I see: from the branding of my local restaurant to the photos used in advertisements.

My favorite food is mashed potatoes. My favorite drink is Dr. Pepper. I love all kinds of music but right now, Mumford & Sons and Silversun Pickups are constantly on repeat. I also have a huge sweet tooth and while editing enjoy nomming on sugary snacks...maybe it's a good thing I get exercise chasing my three year old around!

Personal Projects

This month, I’m taking part in a photography project just for me.  Every day I’m taking a different image that is related to a letter in the alphabet.

I’m hoping at the end of the month to be able to share the images with you!

Until then, here’s a sneak peek from my image from yesterday!

June Afternoons

When I first started blogging a couple years ago, I discovered a sweet lady named Beth.

She was smart and funny, took pictures and had lost twin boys in 2008. I had just given birth and found her right about the first anniversary of their deaths. Having this child snuggling on my chest and knowing that she wouldn’t have her twins other than in spirit was heart breaking for me.

Her growth as a photographer and a mother (I was with her pregnancy with Elijah and she is now pregnant again!) have been wonderful to view.

So when she shared that there is an etsy shop called June Afternoons that has some of my favorite photographers that donated work with all proceeds going to March of Dimes I just had to get involved.

I know so many loved ones that have lost and I constantly pray that all children are born healthy and can thrive. Because they deserve it.

So visit etsy and find a print you love and know you are getting a gift not only for yourself, but for babies everywhere.

Just wanted to write…

(Have you found Pinterest yet? Be my friend if you have!  If not, let me know and I’ll hook you up with an invite!)

Projects

I just booked an exciting project that I cannot wait to share with you!

I’ll be taking portraits of my hometown firefighters in their new uniforms. Spending the day taking pictures of men in uniform? Yes please!

"These are not the droids you are looking for!"

I’ve also set up a partnership with the gorgeous and fabulously amazing Robin Davis to develop my personalized packaging. Seriously, I am so excited. Bouncing in my chair excited. Cannot WAIT to get the products in my hands and share them with you!

New Portland Photographer Friends

Last night, I was invited to a Portland Photographer get together and oh man, am I so glad that my mom was able to hang out with the family last night so I could go! I had a BLAST!

Everyone is so friendly and open and sharing and the people are so fantastic! Plus, the ideas we’ve developed are brilliant. Cannot wait to see Heather Espana’s Emu glamor shot website for single emus to meet. Also, thanks for the fantastic Lauren (don’t have a link but I will find her!!) for the Thunder Pants tip! Apparently they are the best underwear for not riding up and giving wedgies. We also discussed the best shooting outfit (leggings over a dress and comfortable boots) – apparently like shooting in pajamas! Brilliant idea…. I met so many amazing people I cannot even begin to list them all!

Now, my top moment of the night was being surrounded by rockstars at one point. I’ve been a HUGE fan of Emily G Photography for years…back when she was Red Wagon Photography even….she shot one of my favorite local celebrities as well and that just was the pinnacle of rockstardom to me.;)Another of my favorite photographers is Bryan Rupp, he is just an AMAZING photographer who manages to capture light so incredibly and is super friendly.

Having them each on one side of me just was a highlight of my night!

Thank you Fundy for inviting me and Erin Grace for planning the amazing get together and letting me crash (and pay with coins….)!

I love Portland!

And I just discovered that Maricar, another one of my favorites was there last night too! Okay, when’s the next one?!

Photographer Love :: Elizabeth Messina

One photographer I discovered while at WPPI was Elizabeth Messina and I have fallen head over heals in love. At her talk, we got some beautiful prints and (along with Jose Villa) I now have some framed and put around my office. When I finally get some good light (darn Spring in Oregon….) I’m going to get some photos of my decorating (including the three amazing vases full of fake flowers I got from Goodwill for about $7 total…). But they seriously make me happy.

She does some breathtaking styled shoots and her most recent post is no exception. Seriously, so much love!

All images are (c) the amazing Elizabeth Messina.

She Shoots, She Scores

One of the most popular images floating around is the Keep Calm and Carry On poster.

Then came all of the knockoffs.

This morning, I had one of those moments that just CLICKED and I had to create.  I already had the sketch…just needed to put it all together!

Just click on the image if you want to download it!  And email me if you want a print. :D

Baby Blues :: Forest Grove, Oregon Child Photographer

I was so excited to shoot my cousin’s son again.  He is getting SO big!  Happy 6 months, Andrew!  You are SO loved!

Firefighter Love

I was honored enough to visit my hometown and take shots of the new Fire & Life Safety Division Chief.  He just also happened to be a friend from high school’s wife….and the son of a good friend of my mom’s.

A night full of Star Wars and Star Trek jokes – “These are not the droids you are looking for”

Oath of Office

Before getting down to business.

Proud Chief

Almost as proud as a papa.

Pinned

Three of the four boys (yes, they have four beautiful boys!) helped pin his new bars on.  They were SO proud.

Cake!

After all that hard work, they definitely deserved some cake!

Big Smile

And one last big grin.  The proud new Division Chief.  Congratulations, Dave!  It was so great to see you all!

Wuv, Twu Wuv :: Forest Grove, Oregon Engagement Photographer

This couple was so much fun to shoot.  It helps that they are my cousin and her fiance, but that only contributed to my knowing them, not the joy from this day.
Laughing

We had SO much fun! I wish I could shoot them every day!

Fire!

Her dad is a retired firefighter, which means we had to play at the fire department!  They were up for anything!

Blonde Moment

And one last one, my favorite from the whole day:
Romantic in Oregon

Thank you, Megan and Ethan for being such amazing models and being so much in love!  I cannot wait to meet with you on Sunday to show you the rest!
